The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) seeks a nurse practitioner or physician associate to join our Neurosurgery team at the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) in Anchorage, Alaska. Working in collaboration with our neurosurgeons and physician associate, you will see inpatients and outpatients on our medical center campus. Responsibilities include: completing comprehensive histories and physical exams; ordering and interpreting tests; prescribing medications; developing treatment plans; and educating patients/families on treatment options. The advanced practice professional (APP) will also rotate into surgery as a first assist and split trauma response with the other APP. APP’s assist in a variety of neurosurgeries including, but not limited to: microdiscectomies, laminectomies, ACDF, burr holes, fusions, decompressions and ALIFs.
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday; five 8-hour day shifts.

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is seeking primary care providers to deliver health care services throughout the state of Alaska at various Tribal health organizations. The hub of the medical practice is located in Anchorage, Alaska with periodic rotations to regional health centers. Each rotation will vary in time and location, dependent upon regional needs and the provider’s availability.
As an employee of the ANTHC, there are opportunities for the primary care provider to deliver a wide range of health care services and procedures consistent with their skillset both in Anchorage and the regions. There are great opportunities in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with or without obstetrics, with or without emergency department coverage, and teaching in the Community Health Aide Program. In this role you will provide outpatient management and inpatient consults with exposure to advanced disease and challenging pathologies, including advanced valvular disease. Physicians provide telemedicine consults using our world-renowned AFHCAN telemedicine (www.afhcan.org) and manage patients at rural outreach clinics throughout the state.
Qualifications: Completion of an ACGME/AOA residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiology; BE/BC in Cardiology; willing to travel to rural communities in the state 2-3 days at a time five to six times per year.
