ANTHC is also moving forward with designing floors 4-6 as we seek additional funding to support construction of Phase 2, which includes:
While we have a lot of work ahead, we are making significant strides to improve the services we provide.
Construction update
Construction will block the first floor, east-west corridor of the Mountain Path side at the Alaska Native Medical Center near elevators 7-9 from February 8-16. Access to the elevators will be maintained and the impact regarding patient and visitor walkways will be minimal, but patients accessing Imaging will use the route above highlighted in blue.
A temporary construction barrier will be erected. Crews will be removing ceiling, cutting into existing ductwork, cutting sheet rock, and installing a new smoke damper and airflow monitoring station in the existing ductwork.
Reminder: Temporary Emergency Services Department now open
As construction continues elsewhere in the hospital, the Temporary Emergency Services Department (ESD) opened on Sept. 7. Patients should present to the Temporary ESD, located on the southeast side of the hospital.
Access to the Temporary ESD is from the Diplomacy Drive entrance. The Tudor Centre entrance is for emergency vehicle access only. The former Emergency Room entrance is closed for construction.
Parking Update
Most of the ANMC hospital east parking lot is fenced off for construction activities. Day parking is no longer available in the ANMC hospital east lot, except for limited ADA accessible parking. The remainder of available parking in this area is reserved for ESD patients.
Additional parking locations include: ANMC Patient Housing Parking Garage (north of the hospital), Denali Parking Garage (east of the hospital), and Flattop Mountain Parking Garage (south of the hospital). There is a marked pedestrian path from the Denali Parking Garage for all foot traffic between the garage and the ANMC hospital.
