      Staff from the ANTHC Department of Rural Utility Management Services (DRUMS) presented at the Alaska Rural Water Association (ARWA) conference in Anchorage.     • ANMC opens discharge lounge in Quyana House

      ANMC opened a discharge lounge in the Quyana House last week. The new discharge lounge has been designed to improve efficiency with hospital flow while providing a comfortable place for our patients to relax while waiting for transportation back home. The lounge is available for patients 18 years or older being discharged from ANMC and waiting for a ride or travel papers. Our patient’s escort is also welcome to wait in the lounge with them.       ANTHC’s Health Promotion program was awarded a competitive grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for Food Distribution Program Nutrition Education (FDPNE) in 2016. This funding allows grantees to provide nutrition education services to Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservation (FDPIR) participants. ANTHC’s FDPIR provides a monthly supply of nutritional food to more than 700 people in 18 rural Alaska communities.
