Talking to teens about sensitive topics is never easy, but it’s important to talk openly and honestly. Text the word “EMPOWER” to 97779 and you’ll receive weekly tips via text message, covering sexual health, pregnancy, STDs and consent! Discussing relationships, consent, safe dating, pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and other topics related to sexual wellness helps to form the skills youth need to express boundaries. You’ll receive up to three text messages per week with conversation starters, tips, video demonstrations and words of encouragement. You don’t need to have all the answers, you just need to start talking – be open and honest – and keep at it.
