Patient housing rises on Alaska Native Health Campus
January 8, 2016Categories: ANTHC
2016 will be an exciting year for our people traveling to ANMC for care, as the Patient Housing project continues to progress on schedule and within budget for opening later this year. Since we broke ground in May 2015, all steelwork has been completed, which gives structure to the six floors of interior construction to begin. The project is currently at 40 percent construction. At the start of December, a mock-up room was built on the second floor of the structure to help ANTHC leadership and project partners begin to see the project beyond the 2-D renderings. The mock-up room includes finished walls and sample furnishings that help designers and users understand the space. Based on the mock-up, we have already received exceptional feedback on the room amenities and are making minor adjustments in anticipation of setting the remaining 200 guest rooms. The Consortium is excited to see this project come together as a home away from home for the 60 percent of ANMC patients that travel to Anchorage for their care.
