Liu Rachel Liu, ANMC Progressive Care Unit RN receives DAISY Award

Congratulations to ANMC DAISY Award winner, Liu Rachel Liu, RN in the Progressive Care Unit. DAISY Awards are considered from nominations received directly from patients and colleagues. Liu was nominated by a patient.
ANMC’s nurses provide culturally appropriate, family-centered care in a unique hospital environment, and they are constantly seeking ways to improve the services and care we provide. In an effort to further recognize our nurses for their outstanding work, ANMC partnered with the DAISY Award, an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day.
Liu’s patient wrote in their nomination, “Liu Liu has been on top of my care from the beginning. She is compassionate plus in my condition I needed her skills and judgment from an independent to dependent person. Her help has been instrumental! She has the skills, knowledge and superior attitude working with handicap people. She has made my transition smooth. It was a pleasure being under her care and supervision!”
Liu was recognized at an award ceremony where she was presented with a certificate, a DAISY Award pin and a hand-carved stone sculpture. Several nurses, colleagues and ANMC leadership attended the ceremony to show their appreciation and support for Liu, who was grateful for the recognition.
Patients, their families and fellow ANMC staff can nominate nurses for DAISY Awards. Nomination forms and collection boxes have been placed throughout the ANMC hospital. Nurses who are nominated for and receive the DAISY Award exemplify what it means to be a skilled, hardworking, caring and compassionate nurse. They go above and beyond in caring for their patients.
Subsequent honorees will be selected quarterly and each DAISY Award honoree will be recognized at a public ceremony in their unit or department.
