Campus growth means better access to care for our people
January 6, 2017In its second year, the Strategic Access department continued to help ANTHC increase and improve the care and services we provide. This year, we remodeled and expanded several clinics and inpatient areas, adding capacity to our hospital and helping ensure specialty clinic appointments are available when needed. Our largest projects from 2016 included the remodel of the Healthy Communities Building to accommodate 40,000 square feet of new clinic space and the opening of patient housing at ANMC mentioned above.
ANTHC, in partnership with our people and the Alaska Tribal Health System, is focused on the future and devoted to providing the right care in the right place at the right time for our people. We are constantly investing in our people and infrastructure to ensure essential services are provided in order to advance our vision that Alaska Native people are the healthiest people in the world. Since our historic settlement with the Indian Health Service, we have focused on adding additional space and services for our people.
Strategic Access projects from 2016 include:
- Opened the Flex Unit – providing seven new inpatient beds and our first bariatric patient bed space as well as three additional post-op spaces for OR
