Construction Update:
Demolition of the ANMC hospital east side exterior octagon and canopy footings will be completed this week. To prepare for the Temporary Emergency Department space, demolition of the south entrance area parking lot began this week.
For the Temporary Emergency Department space, construction crews are working on interior framing and sheetrock installation, plumbing and duct removal continues and will be followed with the installation of new, and electrical work is ongoing.
On Thursday, May 23, and Friday, May 24, a small drilling rig will be mobilized in the wooded area on the north end of the ANMC east side parking lot for percolation testing. Drilling is anticipated to take a half day on May 23, and then the rest of the time crews will be onsite doing the percolation testing (which will not be noisy). Crews may use equipment to pull PVC out of the ground on Friday, although they suspect it can be done by hand. Traffic will not be rerouted or closed for these drilling efforts.
Parking Update:
A large portion of the ANMC hospital east side parking lot is fenced off for construction staging. Please remain alert and aware of construction activities when driving or walking on the east side of campus. The remaining ANMC hospital east lot parking spots are reserved for patients. Additional parking locations include: the ANMC Patient Housing Parking Garage (north of the hospital), the Denali Parking Garage (east of the hospital), and the Flattop Mountain Parking Garage (south of the hospital).
