ANTHC employees Sarah Mattie, RN and Wyatt Halm, CNA honored with DAISY and BEE Awards
May 10, 2023Congratulations to ANMC DAISY Award winner, Sarah Mattie, RN and ANMC BEE (Being Excellent Everyday) Award Winner, Wyatt Halm, CNA. Mattie and Halm were nominated by a patient and co-worker, respectively.
Matties’s nominator wrote: “Sarah took amazing care with helping deliver our baby and making sure we were properly cared for. She even came in on her day off to drop off flowers and check in on us… Sarah Mattie, who not only saved my daughter’s life by acting fast but noticed a slight hemorrhage afterwards… will forever be held in my heart. She held my hand and kept reminding me that I was strong & that she was here for me. She held me after and cried with me. My mom lives out of state, and my father wasn’t close enough to make it to our daughters birth. Sarah quite literally was my only moral support besides my boyfriend in that room. She has a heart of solid gold. We are thankful for each and every nurse/doctor that was on our care team but Sarah will forever have a special place in our families lives.”
Halm’s nominator wrote: “Wyatt is a shining ray of light in everyone’s day. He comes in ready to work , smiling, and no task is too small or big. He is such an amazing person and team player. He is good to all the staff. He is amazing with patients and their families. He is kind and respectful. He takes the time to talk to out patients and help them with ADL’s. He takes time to wash hands, groom nails and wash hair. He goes out of his way to make everyone feel special/important. He is such an asset to our team.”
Patients, their families and fellow ANMC staff can nominate nurses for DAISY Awards. Nomination forms and collection boxes have been placed throughout the ANMC hospital. Nurses who are nominated for and receive the DAISY Award go above and beyond in caring for their patients.
