The ANMC Pulmonology and Sleep Clinic specializes in providing a full range of services including:
- Evaluation and treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Evaluation and treatment of respiratory disorders, including bronchiectasis, pneumonia and pulmonary fibrosis
- Evaluation and screening for lung nodules
- Screening, work-up and follow-up care for lung transplants
- Evaluation and treatment of sleep apnea and sleep disorders, including insomnia and narcolepsy
- Pulmonary function testing, performed in our clinic
How do I make an appointment?
To make an appointment, you must first receive a referral from your primary care provider or another specialty clinic.
Any questions, please contact our clinic and we can work with you and your provider on the appropriate referral.

What is Pulmonology Clinic (Pulmonary)?
Pulmonology/pulmonary is a lung specialty clinic where the providers evaluate your lungs, breathing issues and respiratory disorders.
Where is the Pulmonology and Sleep Clinic located?
We are located on the first floor of the Alaska Pacific Medical Building. Our address is 3976 University Lake Drive, Suite 100.
How long will it take me to be seen?
Once a complete referral is received from a provider, you’ll generally be called to schedule an initial visit with Pulmonary or Sleep, potentially including testing, within one to four weeks.
What is a bronchoscopy/EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound guided bronchoscopy)?
A bronchoscopy is a procedure where the doctor uses a scope to look in the lungs/airways. An EBUS is a bronchoscope that has an ultrasound at the end of the scope to evaluate lymph nodes in the airway. The reason for the bronchoscopy is airway inspection, biopsy and lavage (washing out the lungs to evaluate for infection).
Do I need an escort for my initial visit?
Unless your mobility is greatly diminished, you are scheduled for a procedure (bronchoscopy, EBUS or CT lung biopsy) or other extenuating circumstances are present, you will not need an escort for your initial visit with a pulmonologist.
What is a pulmonary function test?
A pulmonary function test (PFT) is a series of breathing tests that check how well air moves in and out of your lungs.
What is a sleep study?
A sleep study is a test that is performed while you are sleeping to see if you stop breathing at night. This is test is done in a sleep lab while you are hooked up to monitors.
