Services
Our clinic sees patients that have been referred for the treatment of cancers or blood diseases. The Infusion Center administers infusions for patients who need chemotherapy, hydration, blood products, biologics and other infusions. People who are being seen in our clinic and have additional issues that are not oncology and hematology related will still need to see their primary care provider.
The ANMC Oncology and Hematology Clinic specializes in providing a range of services including:
- Medical oncology (treatment of tumors)
- Hematology (treatment of blood issues)
- Infusion services (treatment through injection of fluids)
- Palliative care (treatment and relief of pain for terminal illnesses)
How do I make an appointment?
To make an appointment, you must first receive a referral from your primary care provider or another specialty clinic.
If you have any questions, please contact our clinic and we can work with you and your provider on the appropriate referral.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take me to be seen?
Once a complete referral is received from your primary care provider, you’ll generally be called to schedule an initial visit with Oncology and Hematology within one week.
Do I need an escort for my initial visit?
Yes, we will authorize an escort for your consultation. It is helpful to have an additional person hearing the information the provider gives you.
What can I expect after my initial visit?
We may not know all of your treatment plans until you have seen the doctor. If you are from out of town, this can result in needing you and your escort to remain in Anchorage for longer than originally planned. Plan on your stay being extended.
Where is the Oncology and Hematology clinic located?
We are on the fourth floor of the Healthy Communities Building, located at 3900 Ambassador Drive.
How long until I can return to work?
We all heal differently so this will depend on your individual case. Some treatments require patients to be away from work for three months or longer.
