As construction crews prepare for cold weather, the foundation of the building and its erection are underway.
Underground plumbing and electrical in phase 5 of the project is now underway, as the construction team prepares to form a composite floor by pouring a concrete slab over a metal form deck in a process known as ‘slab on deck.’ Steel is being installed up to the roof in Phase 3, and preparations for roof installation for Phase 1 are underway.
Upcoming Milestones:
- Phase 6 excavations of the exterior footings
- Pour strip and spot footings in phase 5
- Finish under-slab plumbing in phase 6
Construction is underway at the corner of Ambassador Drive and Elmore Road. There should not be direct impacts to departments, although visitors on campus will most likely notice the activity. Noise levels will increase in the immediate vicinity due to the operation of heavy equipment.
