About

Stacy Yanagawa (she/her) was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and is a member of the Cherokee Nation. Stacy earned a Master of Education in Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health through the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Stacy is a certified Behavioral Health Practitioner and provides individual and group therapy and assessment services at the BHWC.

Stacy has worked with adolescents and adults with mental health and substance use concerns, in both outpatient and residential settings. Stacy’s approach to therapy is relational, holistic, and strengths-based. She endeavors to meet each client with empathy, humanity, authenticity, and humor. She is primarily an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) therapist, though she enjoys weaving elements of other approaches in her work to best suit the needs and desires of each unique client.

Outside of work, Stacy enjoys reading, doing puzzles, watercolor painting, playing board games, and spending time with her wife and dog.
