Whether you are looking for support for yourself or a loved one, we have care that comes with a compassionate, welcoming environment. Using telehealth, we provide positive, accessible behavioral health experiences so that no matter what you are struggling with, help is here. When one of us gets better, all of us become stronger.

Our Offerings
We are here to serve you. We welcome all Alaska Native and American Indian people who are 18 years or older and physically present in the state of Alaska. No matter the issue, we are here to provide help without judgment. We happily receive individuals of all religions, languages, education, HIV status, ability, marital status, sexual orientation, sex and gender identity.
We embrace a brief treatment approach that creates momentum. Telehealth is always from the comfort of your own home or local clinic.

Behavioral Health Assessments
Behavioral health assessments are used to identify whether you meet criteria for a diagnosis and the level of support you would benefit from for substance use and or mental health needs. During the appointment, you will share what you are comfortable with to help your provider understand a little more about your lifestyle, your past and what is concerning you. Your provider will give you recommendations for types of support to help improve your concerns, challenges and symptoms.
Duration: Between 1 and 1.5 hours per appointment
Health Behavior Coaching
Do you struggle with any of the following?
- Sleep (CBT-I)
- Weight management
- Pain
- Tobacco cessation
- Exercise
If so, you are not alone and health behavior coaching can help. Your provider will teach you skills to manage health concerns to chronic illness. Together, you will change behaviors that might be pulling you away from the healthiest you. You will learn tips and tricks to achieve your goals and process the things that are setting you back, all with the help of a provider dedicated to your success
Duration: 50 minutes per appointment
Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT)
If someone you love is experiencing a substance use disorder, it can feel hopeless. It’s not. Our program teaches you how to help your loved one reduce their alcohol and drug use and motivate them to enter treatment.
CRAFT equips you with skills supported by research to work, assists in strengthening your relationship with your loved one, and giving you a place for hope and support as you navigate this space.
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is just that: tailored to you.
Your behavioral health therapist will work with you one-on-one to tackle your concerns. We can address a wide range of topics including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Grief and loss
- Family and relationship difficulties
- Life changes
- Substance use
- Body image
- Sexual health
- Feeling stuck in life
- And more
Duration: Between 30 minutes and 1 hour per appointment
Group Counseling
Getting better together.
There’s comfort in learning together. In your group counseling sessions, you will meet with others who are experiencing the same struggles as you. Your therapist will work with the group to discuss experiences and learn coping skills. Group sessions are a wonderful way to connect with and learn from others who get what you’re going through. Help one another, learn together and get better.

Group Counseling Offerings
Anxiety, Depression and Stress
Day: Wednesday
Time: Noon-12:50 p.m.
For: Anxiety, depression and stress
This group provides you with practical skills and techniques for addressing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress. You will be engaged in activities that help identify patterns in your thoughts and behaviors as well as meaningful ways to increase your well-being.
ACT on Your Recovery
Day: Wednesday
Time: 4-4:50 p.m.
For: Substance use
This group offers you space to reflect on the function alcohol and/or drug use has in your life and receive support with your recovery goals, utilizing the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach. In this group, you will be invited to engage in mindfulness exercises, practice strategies for managing triggers, and develop more compassion for yourself in the process. You will have the opportunity to explore and define what matters to you and how to take a stand for these values in your life related to recovery.

Ayuq Parenting and Caregiving Skills
Day: Tuesday

Mindfulness for Health and Resilience
Day: Monday
Time: Noon-12:30 p.m.
For: Anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and pain
This group engages you in a variety of mindfulness exercises at each session. Exercises include meditation, guided imagery, breathing methods, and other practices to help relax the body and mind, reduce stress, and improve well-being. You will learn how to focus on what you are sensing in the moment without judgment as well as techniques to bring relief to symptoms you are experiencing.
Trauma Recovery and Empowerment
Day: Thursday
Time: Noon-12:50 p.m.
For: Substance use, trauma
This group helps you work towards safety in your life, letting go of dangerous relationships, feeling control of your trauma and substance use symptoms, and discontinuing your substance use. You are not required to recount specific traumas. The emphasis of this group is on teaching and practicing skills that you can use right away to address symptoms of trauma and substance use.
Healthy Relationships
Day: Monday
Time: 4-4:50 p.m.
For: Relationship skills
Each week, your provider will help the group identify key components to a healthy romantic relationship, offer a space to reflect and practice skills that support you in real-life situations. Whether you are entering a new relationship or strengthening a long-term partnership, this group is a place for you to share and receive encouragement with others who have similar goals. - Establishing and maintaining boundaries
- Exploring decision-making styles
- Building a stronger connection
- Loving your relationship
Grief, Loss and Bereavement
Day: Thursday
Time: 4-4:50 p.m.
For: Grief support
This drop-in group offers you support following the death of a loved one. In a supportive setting, you will engage in both listening and sharing to the extent you are comfortable. Each session will provide space to process loss, learn about skills for coping, and set grief aside for small amounts of time to focus on self-care activities.

BHWC staff can connect you to the agencies and centers that have the help you need. Paperwork and logistics can feel overwhelming. Staff will connect you with options and help you complete paperwork and other necessary steps to get you where you need to be.”

Secure Online Portal
Release of Information
The Behavioral Health Wellness Clinic (BHWC) Release of Information form authorizes the BHWC to use and disclose your health information and substance use disorder treatment information with your treating health care providers. The BHWC Release of Information form will only release information regarding your care at the ANTHC Behavioral Health Wellness Clinic. You may complete the online Release of Information request or fill out the printable Release of Information form, then submit it to the BHWC by fax at 907-729-3950 or at our secure online portal.
Revoke or Cancel Prior Authorizations:
If you authorized us to use or disclose your health information, you may revoke your authorization in writing at any time. Once revoked, we will no longer use or disclose your health information for the reasons covered by your initial written authorization. You may only revoke an authorization you made for yourself or your minor child. This revocation of the authorization will not affect any action we took in reliance on the initial authorization prior to receiving revocation notice. Fill out the printable Revocation of Release of Information form, then submit it to the BHWC by fax 907-729-3950 or at our secure online portal.

To obtain your medical records from the Alaska Native Medical Center, please complete the ANMC Medical Record Request form.

MyHealth is a secure health management tool that allows you to access your medical information and contact your primary or specialty clinic providers online or by mobile device.
To sign up for a myHealth account or for any other questions about your medical record, please call Central Registration at (907) 729-1395.
