Palliative Care Alaska Network (PCAN) supports palliative care through collaboration and education to empower a comprehensive and dynamic network of individuals, agencies, and communities to share tools and resources throughout Alaska.
Collaboration: Creating a statewide inclusive network that brings together palliative and end of life care focused individuals and organizations.
Education: Utilize the energy and leadership of individuals to develop education specific to the needs of our state.
2018 Annual PCAN Symposium – The Many Faces of Palliative Care – Saturday, Oct. 27 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the ANTHC Consortium Office, Building Conference Room 1 and 2. This free conference is open to the public and will feature interdisciplinary presentations on the future of palliative care, tips for serious illness conversations, nutrition, cultural considerations, volunteer hospices in Alaska, perinatal palliative care and self-care for medical providers and teams. Advocacy: Supporting the growth development and education of palliative and end of life care services statewide whether clinical or volunteer based.
