Sponsorship opportunities still available to be a part of the ANTHC patient housing community

November 11, 2016

Our Alaska Native community is an important part of fulfilling our mission and vision at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, as equal partners in the care that we provide and champions of the Tribal values that ANTHC is known for. When the 202-room patient housing facility opens in January 2017, many individuals and organizational partners will be a part of the healing “home away from home” community through their generous financial support of patient housing benefits for guests. There are many sponsorship opportunities still available for recognition on opening day in January, from a play center for children to communal kitchens and exercise space for guests. Through sponsorships and donations, the Alaska Native Medical Center will be able to better support the individual needs of our people staying in the patient housing facility while receiving medical care. More than half of the patients receiving care at ANMC travel to Anchorage from rural Alaska for an extended period. This new lodging solution will provide our patients with a safe, comfortable place to rest in the company of others who are going through similar experiences and in an environment that promotes community, family and healing. One impactful way in which individuals and organizations are letting our family and fellow Tribal members know we are thinking of them during their stay in Anchorage is through guest room sponsorship. By joining the patient housing community in this way, a recognition plaque outside of a room will display the name of the sponsoring individual or organization, with options for an ‘in memoriam of’ or honorary tribute. With only 200 guest rooms, this sponsorship opportunity has limited availability for a gift of $5,000. Organizations such as Chugachmiut have taken this opportunity to memorialize leaders from their region and their dedication to access to health care for Alaska Native people. We have heard from other individuals and families who want to pay tribute to family members’ caring spirits and recognition of the importance and need for this new building on the Alaska Native Health Campus. Sponsorships and donations will be accepted at any time, but the deadline is approaching for opening day recognition.
