Congratulations to ANMC DAISY Award winner, Megan Webb, RN in Family Birthing Services. DAISY Awards are considered from nominations received directly from patients and colleagues. Webb was nominated by a fellow nurse and colleague, Jamille Tucker.

ANMC’s nurses provide culturally appropriate, family-centered care in a unique hospital environment, and they are constantly seeking ways to improve the services and care we provide. In an effort to further recognize our nurses for their outstanding work, ANMC partnered with the DAISY Award, an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day.

In her nomination of Webb, Tucker wrote, “I would like to nominate Megan Webb for a Daisy Award. Megan upholds the values of the organization every shift. She achieves excellence by providing awesome patient care, as well as educating her co-workers so they can strive for excellence. She demonstrates self-determination by attending grad school to be a Certified Nurse Midwife. She treats everyone with respect and integrity. She promotes health and wellness by her willingness to work extra shifts and supports her co-workers. She demonstrates compassion, often volunteering for patients who come to labor and deliver experiencing a fetal loss. Megan is an excellent example of what it means to carry out the mission of ANTHC, providing the highest quality of care in partnership with her patients through the organization. I am grateful to be able to work with such an amazing human.”

Webb was recognized at an award ceremony where she was presented with a certificate, a DAISY Award pin and a hand-carved stone sculpture. Several nurses, colleagues and ANMC leadership attended the ceremony to show their appreciation and support for Webb, who was grateful for the recognition.

Patients, their families and fellow ANMC staff can nominate nurses for DAISY Awards. Nomination forms and collection boxes have been placed throughout the ANMC hospital.

Subsequent honorees will be selected quarterly and each DAISY Award honoree will be recognized at a public ceremony in their unit or department.
