Registration open for 2025 Alaska Indigenous Research Program
Since 2019, the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium and Alaska Pacific University (APU) have hosted the Alaska Indigenous Research Program (AKIRP) to bring together Indigenous and Western worldviews and ways of knowing in an effort for mutual understanding, reciprocity, respect and the co-production of solutions for health disparities among Alaska Native and American Indian people. Emergency Services Expansion update – Feb. 7, 2025
Construction Update: Construction will block the first floor, east-west corridor of the Mountain Path side at the Alaska Native Medical Center near elevators 7-9 from February 8-16. Access to the elevators will be maintained and the impact regarding patient and visitor walkways will be minimal, but patients accessing Imaging will use the route above highlighted in blue. Emergency Services Expansion update – Dec. 20, 2024
Construction Update: Construction crews are making exciting progress on the next phase of the Emergency Services Expansion. For Phase 1B, which will add an additional 18 emergency exam rooms in March 2025, framing is complete; drywall install will be complete this week; tape and paint is ongoing; rough-in for mechanical, electrical and plumbing above the ceiling is ongoing; floor preparation is ongoing; the ceiling grid installation has begun; door frame installation is nearing completion; and wall protection installation has begun.
Campus construction update: Construction activities for Short-term Skilled Nursing Facility – Dec. 19, 2024
On any given day, the Alaska Native Medical Center is caring for dozens of patients who no longer need hospital-level care. While they are well enough to leave the hospital, they are not quite ready to go home. Construction is actively underway on ANTHC’s Short-term Skilled Nursing Facility on the corner of Elmore Road and Ambassador Drive. The facility will provide patient care at the appropriate level and improve our ability to support acute patient care needs at the hospital.
ANTHC promotes Tsimshian man as Director of Nursing for the Emergency Services Department
Sean Fisher brings many years of diverse clinical experience to his role as Director of Nursing for the Emergency Services Department (ESD). Fisher has worked at ANTHC since 2004, where he started as a Lift Team Technician at the Alaska Native Medical Center. Prior to his promotion as ESD Director of Nursing, Fisher was a Clinical Nurse Manager in the ESD. In his role, Fisher oversees operations in the ESD. He is responsible for leading a high-functioning team, ensuring optimal
