Skilled Nursing Facility update – Dec. 10, 2025
As temperatures drop, construction crews are finding ways to keep work on track. Temporary tents have been set up to heat the concrete, allowing crews to continue their work. Reinforcement on the exterior courtyard ICF wall of phase 2 is now complete, and has passed inspections. Weather barriers are also being installed in preparation for exterior window installation, and mechanical contractors are installing electrical wiring on the first floor. Emergency Services Expansion Update – December 10, 2025
With one more month of 2025 remaining, basement concrete work is nearing completion, and stairs have been installed in three locations. Pan decking has been installed at zones 5-10 on level 3, and construction crews are continuing concrete slab work, which is expected to be completed sometime this month. Emergency Services Expansion Update – November 25, 2025
As the Holiday season kicks off this week, basement concrete work is nearing completion, with basement column grouting already complete. Construction crews have begun pouring concrete for the level 1 deck and expect to complete it in December. Level 1 is being enclosed for heating purposes while crews continue their work. With the Holiday season underway, construction on the Skilled Nursing Facility is progressing right on schedule. The building is now almost fully erected, with steel installation expected to be complete in December. Crews are working to bring the second half of the courtyard up to grade while the interior and exterior east courtyard walls are being built. Skilled Nursing Facility update – Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025
Looking ahead to December, another significant milestone is on the horizon in the construction of the Skilled Nursing Facility. Mid-December is when crews estimate the building erection will be complete, and enveloping can begin. While steel erection continues, crews have begun installing all the essential electrical wiring and components, including cables, junction boxes, and outlet boxes, within the walls and ceilings before the drywall is installed. Crews have reached an exciting milestone in the construction of the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) project this month. On October 16, the building’s final interior and exterior footings and the stem walls were completed. The ANTHC Cardiology Clinic is moving to a new location with expanded services that will enhance the system of care for heart and cardiovascular patients. On October 31, the Cardiology Clinic will move from the Alaska Native Medical Center hospital to the second floor of the Healthy Communities Building (HCB) located at 3900 Ambassador Drive. Over the past couple of weeks, visible progress has been made on the Emergency Services Expansion (ESE) project. Now, when you walk outside of the Alaska Native Medical Center, the structural steel seems to progress daily.
