About the Event
ATCEM is hosted by the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium’s Community Environment and Health. They partner closely with ANTHC’s Climate Initiatives team, along with representatives from nonprofits, communities, industry, and all levels of government to develop the conference session content. It’s four days of plenaries, breakout sessions, and networking with exhibitors. The conference features six tracks:
- Capacity Building: Youth outreach, community engagement, grant writing, funding opportunities
- Community Infrastructure: Tribal utilities, healthy homes, air quality, transportation
- Contaminated Sites: Brownfields, public health impacts, remediation, ANCSA
- One Health: Food & water security, contaminant monitoring, human-animal-environment connections
- Resilience: Severe weather events, Indigenous knowledge, community resilience, disaster preparedness
Solid & Hazardous Waste: Backhaul, waste reduction, innovative technologies, community success stories
The event is a vital networking space for Tribal environmental professionals from across the state to learn from one another, connect with support organizations and agencies, and discover resources to help assist in efforts to improve local environmental health.

Registration
Registration is required for all who plan to participate at the 2027 Alaska Tribal Conference on Environmental Management (ATCEM), including exhibitors, presenters, committee members, volunteers, and scholarship recipients.

Full Conference - $590
Grants access to all four days of the conference: breakout sessions, trainings/workshops, keynotes, performances, lunch during the Environmental Excellence Awards Ceremony, networking with exhibitors, and swag.
Elder Full Conference - $390
For Elders 60 and older with valid ID. Grants access to all four days of the conference: breakout sessions, trainings/workshops, keynotes, performances, lunch during the Environmental Excellence Awards Ceremony, networking with exhibitors, and swag.
Student Full Conference - Free
For full-time students attending school in Alaska with proof of a valid school ID or enrollment. Grants access to all four days of the conference: breakout sessions, trainings/workshops, keynotes, performances, lunch during the Environmental Excellence Awards Ceremony, networking with exhibitors, and swag. Email atcem@anthc.org if interested in registering as a student.
Individual Days
Grants access to the individual days selected: activities taking place that day, networking with exhibitors, and swag.
- Tuesday – $250
- Wednesday – $250
- Thursday – $200
- Friday – $250
Presenters
Anyone confirmed by ATCEM staff or track leads to present has two options:
- The day you are presenting is free (limit one day).
- The full conference pass is discounted 25% off.
- If you were on a planning committee or signed up to volunteer at the conference, you’ll qualify for additional discounts.
Discount codes based on the option chosen will be provided by ATCEM staff or track leads. Please don’t register until you receive guidance from conference staff. Contact atcem@anthc.org with questions.
Exhibitors
Exhibitor booths will be set up all four days at ATCEM. There are three booth types to choose from, each with different pricing. Each type includes two non-transferable badges for colleagues, a table to display materials, two chairs and electricity hookup. One of the badges also grants access to the rest of the conference. - For-profit organization – $900
- Not-for-profit organization – $700
- Tribal artisan or artist – $400
- Extra booth staff pass – $300
Committee Members and Volunteers
If you are a confirmed track committee member and/or you sign up as a volunteer to help with ATCEM and are approved, you will qualify for free days. Volunteer positions include assisting with setup and teardown, moderating sessions, checking people in at the registration table, etc. Once signed up, you’ll be contacted by ATCEM staff with a discount code to use at registration. No, ATCEM is currently an in-person conference with only occasional virtual presentations.

Want to help make ATCEM a special event? Consider donating a door prize to be given away to conference attendees. If interested in donating to ATCEM 2027, contact us at atcem@anthc.org, and we’ll coordinate item pickup. Your name or company will then be recognized at the event, and on our website and Facebook page.
Environmental Excellence Awards
Every year, we present five ATCEM Environmental Excellence Awards to recognize the hard work performed for preserving our environment for future generations. Stay tuned for information about ATCEM 2027 award nominations!.
• Rising Star Award: Awarded to an individual who is just getting started in the Tribal environmental field but shows great promise to be an up-and-coming environmental leader in their community.
• Environmental Leader Award: Awarded to an established Tribal environmental professional who demonstrates outstanding motivation and leadership with environmental projects in their community.
• Lifetime Achievement Award: Awarded to an individual who has made long-lasting environmental contributions that improve environmental health in their community over the course of many years. This individual is a true inspiration and deserving of the highest honor.
• Helping Hands Award: Awarded to an individual, team, or organization that has provided exceptional services to support environmental projects in Tribal communities.
• Community/Group Award: Awarded to a group or a team that has demonstrated outstanding environmental leadership in their community and has worked together to improve their local environment.
Conference Location Information
ATCEM is hosted by Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium in Anchorage, Alaska. The 2027 conference will be held at the William A. Egan Civic & Convention Center (Egan Center) on March 30-April 2. The Egan Center is conveniently located in downtown Anchorage and within walking distance from multiple restaurants, shops and hotels.
