Over the past couple of weeks, visible progress has been made on the Emergency Services Expansion (ESE) project. Now, when you walk outside of the Alaska Native Medical Center, the structural steel seems to progress daily.
While construction crews work on actively setting that steel, basement concrete work is still progressing. The Basement wall at the northwest corner of the new structure was recently poured at Gridline 18, with column grouting ongoing and 65% complete.
Potential Operational Impacts:
The crane operation and steel installation will have minimal impact on hospital operations. There may be some disruptions due to noise or vibration as workers progress. The closure of Stairwell 6 is ongoing and is scheduled to continue through the spring of 2027.
