Improving health care, one program at a time.
Better health doesn’t happen through a single appointment, a one-time vaccine, or a quick discussion with a patient. It comes from building a better health system through collaborative partnerships and continuous, cutting-edge, culturally informed care.
Through statewide health improvement plans like Healthy Alaskans, immunization programs and HIV/AIDS clinical services, ANTHC has partners throughout the Tribal Health System, local and regional government and public and private organizations, to provide the best care possible for all Alaska Native people.
We help providers and organizations stay up-to-date on local changes to protocol and aid in developing strategies that encourage wellness, resilience, sustainability and continuity of care.

Healthy Alaskans
Every state faces different challenges. In Alaska, we face them head-on.
Healthy Alaskans is our state’s health improvement plan and it is the only one in the country that is led by a partnership between the state and a Tribal partnership.
We focus on change in our communities, organizations, individuals and families.
Our objectives aim to address topics such as:
- Chronic disease
- Environmental health
- Health care access
Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation
The Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to meeting health challenges head-on from birth so that Alaska Native people can live healthier lives and avoid chronic health issues and hospital stays.
How? They do this by supporting initiatives that deliver “sustainable, effective and culturally relevant health care” like supporting wellness and prevention programs, creating healthy homes and environments and advancing education. They have four Priority Initiatives:
- Healthy Kids
- Healthy Patients
- Healthy Communities
- Area of Greatest Need

We work statewide with our partners to coordinate vaccine programs and offer educational opportunities. We have resources to help you get the word out on everything from immunization schedule recommendations to vaccine information.
