Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation seeks Raven’s Ball Luminary Nominations by Oct. 21

September 16, 2016

Each year, ANTHC’s Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation honors individuals for their dedication and outstanding contributions to the Alaska Tribal Health System and their communities with the Luminary Awards. Nominations for the Raven’s Ball Luminary Awards are being accepted through close of business Friday, Oct. 21. Awardees will be honored at the 10th annual Raven’s Ball Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage. The Raven’s Ball is one of Alaska’s premier black tie parties and dynamic fundraising events, and in 2017 we will continue its tradition of philanthropy that benefits the Foundation’s three key initiatives: improving medical care; strengthening wellness and prevention efforts; and promoting healthy village environments. There are three Luminary Award categories: President’s Legacy & Leadership, Distinguished Provider, and Community Spirit. President’s Legacy & Leadership Award recognizes an outstanding Tribal health leader and/or health care professional that has impacted the culture and performance of the Alaska Tribal Health System. This individual should be recognized as an expert in their field as well as someone who has displayed a long-term commitment to helping improve the Alaska Tribal Health System. The Distinguished Provider Award recognizes a health care provider whose dedication has made a difference in the lives of those patients they care for and in the Alaska Tribal Health System. This award can go to a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, nurse, midwife, optometrist, physical therapist, dietician or other clinician. The Community Spirit Award recognizes the efforts of an individual or group who makes a difference through their advocacy of community health, education, support and outreach programs. This award recognizes an exceptional individual or group who has made volunteering and community service a way of life and demonstrates a sense of caring and responsibility for the youth in our community.
