ANTHC pilots online solution for tobacco treatment specialist training

April 8, 2016

In 2015, the ANTHC Tobacco Prevention Program obtained a grant to design and implement an online tobacco treatment specialist (TTS) training. ANTHC has been hosting in-person annual TTS trainings on campus since 2006. Once complete, the new online version will allow more participants to take the course, especially for those that live off of the road system. It will also allow for more training access year round, rather than just one time per year.

The ANTHC Tobacco Prevention Program is in the first phase of the project with training this spring on campus with ANMC providers and other partners on the Alaska Native Health Campus. In early 2017, the training will be piloted with Tribal health partner organizations before going live in the spring of 2017.
