Celebration of Life

National Native HIV AIDS Awareness Day March 20th

ANMC Campus will celebrate NNHAAD the week March 15th.

NNHAAD is to: 1) encourage Native people to get educated and to learn more about HIV/AIDS and its impact in their community; 2) work together to encourage testing options and HIV counseling in Native communities; and 3) help decrease the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS. It is a time to reflect on those who have passed as well as those who are currently infected and affected by HIV/AIDS - a "Celebration of Life" for all Native people (Colorado State University).

All Alaska Natives & American Indians, who receive services at the ANMC campus (13 and older), who have their blood drawn will be included in the 25,000 Alaska Air miles giveaway. Testing with your ANMC or PCC provider must be done by Saturday, March 20.  Walk in appointments are available anytime, all week March 15th-19th with SCF Primary Care Center 907-729-3300 or through Alaska Native Medical Center's Internal Medicine Clinic at the following days and time: Monday-Thursday from 11am-1pm Friday from 10am-2pm.

Testing & consultation results are confidential.  Participants, who are tested please call EIS to talk with a direct care provider to have your test verified. For more information, contact Early Intervention Service at 729-2907, 1-888-855-8006 or by e-mail.
